Emma Martha Savickas

She was born on September 18, 1922 in Staten Island, New York to the late Alexander and Pauline (Kolfalk) Doerr. She worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. for many years. Emma was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Westfield, NJ. She was an avid knitter, a word puzzle aficionado, a bowler and the NY Mets #1 fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward G. Savickas; and her sisters Pauline Cappellini and Shirley Toth.

Emma is survived by her daughters, Elaine & Steve Schleifer of Rahway, NJ & Ronni and Tom Jobes of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and her son, Edward & Lynda Savickas of Westfield, NJ. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Pamela & Rob Lloyd of Cayce, SC, Matthew & Charys Schleifer of New Milford, NJ, Eric Schleifer of Pittsburgh, PA, Daniel Savickas and Claudia Savickas of Westfield, NJ; her sister, Alberta Muir of Culpeper, VA and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 229 Cowperthwaite Pl., Westfield, NJ on September 10th.
