Obituary of Esther Jewell Gore-Moses
Mrs. Esther Jewell Gore Moses, 99, of Nakina passed on Sunday September 18, 2022, in The Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, NC. She was born June 10, 1923, in Columbus County, the daughter of the late John Henry Vanderbilt Gore and Mary Ella Gore. She was a loving wife and mother and loved working in her garden, crafts, fishing and quilting beautiful quilts. She was the church Treasurer for many years and the longest living member of Bethesda Fellowship Church. She is survived by her Daughter-in-Law: Cheryl Wahl Moses, of Greenville, SC; Brother: Paul Gore of Ash, NC; Sisters: Shelby Gore Linton of Thorntown, IN, and Ann R. Worthington of Whiteville, NC; Sister in-laws, Faye Ward Gore and Jane McCumbee Gore; Grandchildren: Bonnie Moses Cox and husband Steve of Holden Beach, NC, Debbie Moses Cuevas and husband Paul of Nakina, NC, Joy Kay Moses Henry and husband Rob of Greenville SC, Joseph Daniel Moses of Nakina, NC, Jimmy Shaw Moses and wife Katie of Simpsonville, SC. Jennifer Wahl Gerush of Green Cove Springs, FL and Tiffany Wahl Martin and husband Alan of Easley, SC; Great-Grandchildren: Steven Cox, Jr. of Holden Beach, NC, Joey Moses and Austin Martin of Abbington, VA, Reuben Henry, Kenny Henry and Kayla Henry of Greenville SC, Adaya Moses, Jaiden Mae Moses, Lilah Moses and Colt Moses of Simpsonville, SC, Brooklyn Gerush and Ava Gerush, of Green Cove Springs, FL and Jenna Martin and Jocelyn Martin of Easley, SC; and Great-Great-Grandchildren:, Aiden, Kaden, Japan, Lettie, Ethan, Jayce, and Pria. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: James Alexander (Jimmy) Moses, Son: John Joseph (Joe) Moses; and ten Siblings: Hazel Gore, Cecil Gore, Waymon Gore, Billy Ray Gore, Wade Gore, Verna Gore, J. C. Gore, Brooks Gore, Ken Gore and Deloras Ann (Monk) Gore McCumbee. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Bethesda Fellowship Church by Preacher Ken Sides & Pastor Sheena Smith. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Daniel Moses, Jimmy Shaw Moses, Steven Cox, Jr., Murry Gore, Ernie Van Gore, and Mark Gore. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at the church.
