He was born on January 20, 1953 to the late Friendly Carroll James and Zilphiann Durant.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ellen James; son, Daniel Scott James.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tina Watts (husband, Josh); sister, Dell Ray; daughter-in-law, Rita James; grandchildren, Danielle James, Alston Nobles, Hailey Gerald, Jenna Williams, Jayden Watts, Alicia Watts, Ashley James, and Nick Young, and several great grandchildren.
Friendly enjoyed working and sitting on his front porch watching cars go by. He loved listening to old soul music and visiting friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at White Funeral and Cremation Service in Shallotte, North Carolina.
