Harry Linwood Floyd

Harry was born July 27, 1955 in Southport, North Carolina, son of the late Horace Linwood Floyd and Callie Thorpe Floyd. He worked as a commercial fisherman until being employed with the Town of Shallotte as a mechanic for many years until his retirement. Harry enjoyed racing, fishing, helping his neighbors and friends, and working in his gardens. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving four years in Pensacola, Florida on the USS Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Wayne and two sisters, Tammy and Becky.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Floyd of the home; son, Jason Floyd and wife Charlotte of Longwood; stepson, David Purcell and wife Kati of Supply; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three brothers, Edward Floyd and wife Judy of Shallotte, William Floyd of Longwood, and Johnny Floyd of Ocean Isle Beach.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
