Ms. White was born in Brunswick County, March 5, 1929 and was the daughter of the late John Goodman White and Maggie Pearl Simmons White. Helen was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Margaret Simmons, Mary Olive Johnson and brothers, John Willie White, Sr., Julian E. White, Alton Edward White, Harry White and a very special nephew, John Willie White, Jr., whom Helen helped raise. He was like a son to Helen.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at three o’clock in the afternoon at the Chapel Hill-Lehew Cemetery, highway 17, Shallotte with Reverend Dr. Foyd Bennett officiating.
