Mrs. Long was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 24, 1927, daughter of the late Charles Clayton Terres and Lovie Fox Terres. In 1982, after raising her family in Gaston County, she and her husband moved to Brunswick County. It was here she enjoyed walking on the beach, painting, and collecting trinkets of all kinds. She also worked as a seamstress from home for many years. Mrs. Long trusted and loved everyone, always seeing the good in people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, David Eugene Long, brother, Frank Norwood, and sister, Rosalee Norwood.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Wayne Long of Clover, South Carolina and Randy Lee Long of Supply, North Carolina; and one grandson, Larry Wayne Long, Jr.
No formal services will be held as she will join her husband buried in Mt. Holly.
