Jerry was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 14, 1946, son of the late John Bober and Victoria Bober, née Zieziulewicz. He moved to Ramsey, New Jersey when he was 4 years old.
He attended Saint Paul Elementary, Don Bosco Prep, Ramsey High School, and Villanova University, where he studied history.
He had a fascinating career as an intelligence analyst for a variety of federal agencies. He loved his job and appreciated being able to work on some the most pressing issues of his time. After retiring from his government job, he worked in the private sector as a contractor for SAIC and Booz Allen, stationed at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office.
He retired to Sunset Beach in 2012, where he enjoyed spending time at the pool and beach. He particularly valued his friendships formed at the Calabash Presbyterian Church and time spent with the men’s breakfast group. Of course, nothing measured up to visits from family, and he was a proud grandparent.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John and Victoria Bober; and his brother John Bober and first wife Joan.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Andrea Bober of Sunset Beach; his daughter Emily Bober of San Diego; his son Mark Bober and wife Sarah Roquemore and their children Lyra and Farallon of San Francisco; his brother Mark Bober and wife Jo-Ann of Dunedin, Florida; and his brother John's second wife Janet Perkowski of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. He is remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A virtual memorial service will be announced at a later date.
