Joanne Cecelia Hintz, age 88, of Calabash, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Joanne was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Cecelia Banas Turlinski. Joanne loved to have "her boys" and grands stay in Sunset Beach for their annual summer vacation and was happy when they all could be together. She enjoyed traveling and trying new restaurants. Mom was a foodie before it was in vogue. She was an avid reader with an extensive library and passed on that love to the grands. Joanne was only 5 feet tall but projected a larger presence. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Gus, on July 9, 2022.
Survivors include her son Steven and wife Tina and grandchildren, Peter, Robert, Elizabeth and Jake as well as her son David and wife Mary and grandchildren Olivia and Jeffrey.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
