Joseph was born February 25, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Joseph C. Evans and Margaret Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Evans enjoyed gardening, crabbing and fishing as well as other outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Evans of Sunset Beach; daughter, Jennifer Evans (Eddie) of Wilmington; and son Ian Evans of Black Mountain.
In accordance with his wishes no services are planned.
