Katie was born in Marion, S.C. on June 26, 1963 and was the daughter of the late John and Marion Allen Gore. She was a paralegal. Katie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing the piano. She unselfishly loved giving to others and an avid supporter of Relay For Life.
She is survived by her husband, Kent Stout; a son, Scott Stout and wife Ashley of Ash, daughter, Jessica Hickman of Ash; her grandchildren, Katie, Gunner, Jayden, Nolan, Zilly; two brothers, Mark Gore and wife Harriett of Ash, Paul “Pee Wee” Gore and wife Donna of Ash; her canine babies, Sophie and Chloe.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of New Hanover Regional Medical Center ICU for the excellent care and compassion given during the time of Katie’s illness.
