August 24, 1961 – October 12, 2026
Louis “Wege” Anthony Bonnoni, 65, of Shallotte, North Carolina, passed away on October 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, countless life lessons, and a family who loved him beyond measure.
Born on August 24, 1961, to Louie and Marianne Bonnoni, Louis was a proud United States Army veteran, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Above all, Wege shared an unwavering love for his wife of 26 years, Evie. She was his partner, his greatest love, and the one who stood beside him through it all. Through everything life had to throw at them, his love for her was never in question. Their love was one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Wege is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Evie Bonnoni; his children, Angelo Bonnoni and his partner, Tanner, of Clymer, Pennsylvania, Amber Bonnoni of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, Lindsey Grguric of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Nathan Blystone and wife Tia, of New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, Briauna Price and husband Colin of Shallotte, North Carolina.
He also leaves behind his sixteen treasured grandchildren: Liam, Addison, Beau, Drake, Abigail, Easton, Gemma, Nolan, Amelia, Layne, Bennett, Jade, Paris, Landon, Chassidy & Kyle. Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and the love he had for each of them was immeasurable. The memories they made with their Nono will forever be held close to their hearts.
Wege is also survived by his father, Louie Bonnoni; of Avonmore, Pennsylvania, his siblings, Linda Knupp and her husband, Scott, of Avonmore, Pennsylvania, and Mark Bonnoni and his wife, Paulette, of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne Bonnoni; his brother, Justin Bonnoni; his granddaughter, Roxanne Bonnoni and grandson Stephan Bonnoni
Wege was truly one of a kind. Stubborn to his core, brutally honest, and never one to sugarcoat a thing, he was a man who told you exactly what he thought, whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was famous for giving life lessons that nobody particularly wanted in the moment, but often turned out to be the very words they needed. Behind his tough exterior was a man whose advice came from a lifetime of experience and a genuine desire to see the people he loved do well.
Wege was the person everyone called. Whether something needed fixing, a project needed finishing, or someone simply needed a helping hand, he was always there. He had a gift for working with his hands and could often be found in his garage, tinkering with one of his many projects, building something, or finding something else that needed his attention.
He loved football, carpentry, tending to his plants, and spending time at the beach searching for shark teeth. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, especially a good plate of crab legs and, of course, his beloved Red Bulls. Anyone who knew Wege, knew that a Red Bull was never too far away.
But above everything else, Wege loved his family. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by the people he loved. His grandchildren, especially, brought him a kind of happiness that words could never fully describe.
Wege was not a man who needed grand gestures to show his love. Sometimes it came through a helping hand, a project he insisted on doing himself and complaining about doing himself, or one of those unforgettable lectures that his family would give anything to hear just one more time.
His absence will be felt in the quiet moments, in the unfinished projects, in the familiar places he loved, and in every family gathering where his voice should be. His family will miss his stubbornness, his honesty, his wisdom, and the unmistakable way he made his presence known.
Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the lessons he taught will continue through his children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
And somewhere, we can only imagine, Wege is still telling someone exactly how things should be done.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
