Lynn Powell

In her early career, Lynn worked at Carolina Power & Light (CP&L) before choosing her most cherished role—being a stay-at-home mother to her three children. Lynn found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life: time spent with family and friends, traveling together, and relaxing by the ocean she loved so much. She shared a special love of music and dancing with her husband, Toney, and the two could often be found dancing the night away to their favorite songs. Preceding Lynn in death are her beloved parents, Genny and William Prentice.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of 34 years, Toney Powell; her children, Lorin and Christian Holder of Durham, NC; Chelsea and Michael Meadows of Leland, NC; and Allen-Michael and Summer Powell and grandson, Hayes Powell of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; her brothers, Michael, Jim, and Carl Prentice; and her sister, Shannon Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to remain following the service to visit with the family.
