Mark Tilson

Mark Allan Tilson age 65 formerly of Washington Crossing, PA and of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson’s at his residence on Monday February 1, 2016 surround by his loving family.

He was born on February 15, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Elizabeth “Betty” Tilson of Shallotte, NC and the late William Tilson.

Mark retired from the United States Postal Inspection Service as a US Postal Inspector. His career took him to Oklahoma and Texas then to the Newark Division for many years. Mark worked out of Hamilton, NJ prior to his retiring in 2007. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In 2012 he and his wife moved to Ocean Isle Beach, Brunswick County and loved the Brick Landing area. Mark’s hobby since 1997 was making wine and he loved to share it with his friends and family. He was very proud of the awards he recently received, Silvers and Bronzes in two Ocean Isle Beach Wine Fest competitions. Mark had planned to go for the gold this year. He loved his Friday breakfast with his friends, also loved to travel on cruises around the world with his wife, Anne and his family and made good friends wherever he went. Mark will be truly missed.

Surviving are his loving family, his wife of 26 years, Anne Elizabeth Waldron Tilson of the home; two sons, Andrew Tilson of Philadelphia, PA and Zachary Tilson also of the home; a brother, William “Bill” Tilson and his wife, Zanna of Kennett Square, PA; a niece, Heather Tilson of Arizona; two cousins, Eileen Larson and husband, Thomas of Sequim, Washington and Karen Kinkead of Buckingham, PA.

A celebration of his life will be held a later date.
