Pat was born in Durham County, North Carolina on July 4, 1944, daughter of the late William Herman Haney, Sr. and Mildred Whitaker Haney. She held various jobs including; secretary for 18 years at Kelly Springfield Tire Company, realtor for six years and a Pharmacy Technician for CVS for 14 years. Pat was a member and Past President of the Red Hat Society, also known as the “Queen Mother.” She was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Haney. She was a member of Brunswick Islands Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Grady Wayne Hales of the home; daughter, Kristina Hales Buron of Greensboro, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Conner James Buron and Haley Elizabeth Buron; a brother, William Herman Haney, Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be Saturday, October 10, 2026, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
