Reverend Isa Dora Carter

Reverend Isa Dora Carter age 73 of Shallotte went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. She battled cancer for over 24 years.

She was born in Brunswick County on September 2, 1941 the daughter of the late, Joseph Stanley and Isa Dora Harper Stanley and was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Carter, Sr.

Mrs. Carter loved her Lord and Savior and preached the Word of God throughout Columbus and Brunswick Counties for a total of 35 years. She was currently pastoring at Word of Life Ministries at Ocean Isle Beach.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, Pastor and a friend to all, she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are 7 children, Sandra Kay DeMay and husband, Daniel DeMay, II of Hartsville, TN, Bill Carter and wife, Rhonda of Supply, NC, Wendy Sheffield and husband, John of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Linda Barnhill of Shallotte, NC, Kim E. Carter and wife, Jennifer also of Shallotte, NC, Reverend Tim E. Carter and wife, Kathy of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Sheila Whaley and husband, Zendal also of Shallotte, NC ; one brother, Mack O’Neil Stanley also of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; 14

grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday August 26, 2015 at the Word of Life Ministries, 6657 Beach Drive Ocean Isle Beach by Reverend Bill McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 till 4:00 PM at the church and other times at their residence.
