Robert Lee Simmons

Mr. Simmons was born in Brunswick County on August 15, 1936 and was son of the late Harry H. Simmons Sr. and Effie Lewis Simmons. He was preceded in death by his wife Josie Evans Simmons, three Brothers, David C. Simmons, Thomas L. Simmons and Harry H. Simmons Jr., two sisters, Doris Eloise Simmons and Blanche Simmons Danford. Mr. Simmons owned and operated Simmons Drywall and was also involved in other aspects of the construction industry. He was a member Freedom Baptist Church of Wilmington. He was ordained a Deacon many years ago. Mr. Simmons was a NASCAR fan and his all time favorite driver was Bill Elliott. He was an avid owner of Ford automobiles. Robert loved his family most of all his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Delores Simmons Waller (Tony), Robert Wayne Simmons (Charlie) and Michael Scott Simmons (Kelly) all of Castle Hayne; grandchildren, Courtney Waller, Ethan Waller, Troy Simmons, Eric Simmons, Savanna Ledet and Cody Simmons; great-grandchildren, Bryson Simmons, Keeghan Simmons, Gavin Simmons, Bianca Solis, Emersyn Waller, Harper Waller,Huxley Waller, Bella Simmons, Everleigh Simmons and Braelynn Simmons; a sister, Esther Mae Simmons Clemmons (Ronnie Sr.) of Supply

Funeral services will be held Monday October 6, 2025 at twelve noon at Freedom Baptist Church, 802 N. College Road, Wilmington with Pastor Dodd Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Holden Beach Road, Supply.

Mr. Simmons's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
