Born and raised in Michigan, Bob was a proud Michigan State alum having in 1956 been part of the first graduating class of packaging engineers. Following graduation, he was part of the team who worked on the Gemini missile project, and later returned to Owens-Illinois where he had worked during college. Package design work at this company took Bob, his wife Lynne and his young family first to New Jersey and later to Pennsylvania. Bob was a dedicated and supportive husband and father who over the years enjoyed varied vacation trips with his family. Upon retirement he and Lynne moved to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, where he was an active golfer and sports enthusiast who always enjoyed rooting for his beloved Michigan State Spartans. Bob was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church.
Bob will be missed by his loving wife, Lynne, of 63 years, and daughters Amy (Roderick), Kathleen (Mark) and Patricia (Mitchell) and his six grandchildren. His eldest daughter Helen Marie (Todd) predeceased him.
Bob’s family is grateful to the staff at Brunswick Health and Rehabilitation who cared for him during his brief illness.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27th at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the church’s columbarium.
