He was born in New Hanover County on May 7, 1981 the son of Sherry M. Jones and Step-father Reverend Donnie Jones of Shallotte and the late Ronald Earl Atkinson and paternal grandparents, Garland and Gennette Atkinson.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Elizabeth Atkinson; two children, Haleigh Atkinson of Evergreen, NC and Ethan Atkinson of Burgaw; one brother, Nicholas Atkinson and wife, Shannon of Ash; maternal grandparents, Reverend Maurice and Margie Milligan of Shallotte; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday November 6, 2017 at White Funeral and Cremation Service Shallotte Chapel by Reverend Donnie Jones officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
