Rufus "R.A." Alton Clemmons

Rufus Alton "R.A." Clemmons, born on February 27, 1948, passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 77. He was a resident of Shallotte, North Carolina. R.A. was born in Brunswick County on February 27, 1948 and was the son of the late Melvin and Dorothy Hewett Clemmons. He was a retired commercial fisherman. Mr. Clemmons was a member of Shell Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Lora Mooney Clemmons of the home; three children, Ricky Dale Clemmons and wife Lisa of Shallotte, Carla Marie Clemmons of Shallotte and Tracy Allen Clemmons and wife Janet of Calabash; a brother, James Earl Clemmons of Supply; three sisters, Carolyn Faye Sellers of Supply, Wanda Gay of Shallotte and Michelle Eades of Supply; a very special brother in-law, Steve Mooney of Shallotte; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday November 20, 2025 at one o'clock in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service Lou White Memorial Chapel, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte with Reverend Tommy Inman and Reverend Landis Lancaster officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
