Sara Etheridge Whitehead, 84, of Sunset Beach died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at SECU Hospice of Brunswick.
Mrs. Whitehead was born August 27, 1935, daughter of the late Herman Earl and Willie Mae Etheridge. She had a delightful personality and never met a stranger. She loved working at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia for many years where she enjoyed meeting new people. Preceding her in death was her husband Charles Whitehead who died in 1980.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Joyner and husband Doug of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, Chuck Whitehead of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brian Whitehead and wife Nicole of Barboursville, Virginia; brother, Edward Etheridge of Scotland Neck, North Carolina; sisters, Frances Patterson of Williamston, North Carolina and Lynn Todd of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, Virginia.
