

Mr. Anderson was born on December 6, 1951, in Stevens County, Minnesota, to the late Dr. Malcolm von Krogh Anderson and IG Hoy Anderson. He worked for many years as a Quality Control Inspector with Law Engineering in Wilmington and Raleigh. He later joined Mundy Maintenance in Wilmington, where he continued his career until his retirement.
Scott was a devoted member of Sharon United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years until declining health prevented him from continuing in a role he deeply loved. He was also an active Mason, serving as a member and Past Master of Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F. & A.M. In addition, he was a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, a Sudan Shriner, and a member of the South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club.
Scott had a deep passion for music and found great joy in flowers, both of which brought beauty and happiness to his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Glenice J. Pieske, Karen J. Hardtke, Valorie K. Anderson, Elizabeth M. Brotherton, and Malcolm Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Teresa Cumbee Anderson. Together they raised three children: Douglas Anderson of Supply, North Carolina, and his wife Erin, with their children Griffin and Abigail Moore; Diana Anderson Frye of Greensboro, North Carolina, and her husband David Frye, with their children Anderson and Stuart; and Edward Anderson of Supply, North Carolina, and his wife Jennifer, with their children Wyatt and Clara.
He is also survived by three sisters, Maxine Dacumos of Birmingham, Alabama; Teresa Skeen of Mooresville, North Carolina; and Heidi Lane of Deep Gap, North Carolina.He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 4690 East Coast Lane, Shallotte.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at eleven o’clock in the morning at Sharon United Methodist Church, with Reverend Paul Dunham officiating.
