Mr. Pennington was born June 28, 1936 in Maryland, son of the late Arlin A. Pennington and Mary Katherine Kidwell Pennington. He served in the United States Marine Corp and retired from the United States Department of Defense at an electrical engineer. Mr. Pennington was a member of the Lions Club in Maryland where he held the office of District Governor. After moving to the coast he became an avid golfer. He was a devoted husband and father who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Suzanne Pennington of the home; four children, Karen Pennington of Carolina Shores, Lane Pennington and wife Linda of Waldorf, Maryland, Greg Pennington and wife Connie of California, Maryland, and Kathy Woodward and husband Harris of Laurel, Maryland; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Maryland at a later date.
