Susan Delilah Robinson

Born on October 25, 1952, in Bolivia, she was the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Reynolds, the youngest of three children. At age six, she suffered the early loss of her father in a car accident.

As a young woman, Delilah met her husband of 47 years, Hilton Robinson. Together they settled in Supply, raised their family, and operated a successful logging company. Alongside running her household, she was deeply involved in the family business, as well as being active and involved in the lives of her mother, her children, and later her grandchildren.

She was the cool mom whose yard was always full of neighborhood kids. She joined them in their activities, riding dirt bikes, playing video games, and watching late night movies. With her grandchildren, she was often found on the floor playing as if she were one of them.

At 47, Delilah was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Though told she might have only five years, she lived another 25. The challenges that followed were difficult, yet she faced them with courage, continuing to be a devoted mother and grandmother for as long as possible.

In her later years, she made her home at The Landings of Oak Island and found joy in her new life. Known for her fun personality and wry sense of humor, she formed new friendships, including a special bond with her dear friend Jade. She later moved to Brunswick Health and Rehab in Ash, where she spent her final days.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Benya and husband Robert; her son, Joey Robinson; grandchildren Grant Caison and wife Lindsay, Trey Caison and fiancé Anna Maryles, Ethan Robinson and wife Mikaela, Logan Robinson, and Aidan Robinson; great-grandchildren Nate Franks Caison, Carter Robinson and Olivia Ward; her sister, Shirlean Hewett and husband Larry; and her brother, Steve Reynolds.
