Virginia Young

Born in Western Springs, IL, she lived there until graduating from Bradley University, Peoria IL, in 1951. She became a stewardess for United Airlines until her marriage to Francis W. Young of Elba, AL, in 1952. In 1956, they moved to Asheville, NC, where she remained for 65 years. In 2021, she moved to Shallotte, NC to be close to her daughter and son-in-law.

Survivors include her son, Michael Wayland Young and wife, Peggy Watford Young of Sweetwater, TN, her daughter, Cynthia Young Wallace and husband, Phillip Wayne Wallace of Supply, NC, five grandchildren, Cheryl Baker, Laura Pierce, Pamela Lane, Nathaniel Wallace and Andrew Wallace, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date in Elba, AL, where she will be interred.
