Wanda was born November 17, 1964 in Southport and grew up in the Boones Neck community of Supply. She found comfort and joy in simple moments and peace of being at home, where visits from family brought her the kind of closeness she valued most. A devoted cat and animal lover, she held a special affection for the companionship and quiet warmth they bring. Those who knew Wanda will remember a woman with a genuinely good heart and free spirited personality. In addition to her parents, Earl and Barbara Kirby, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Kirby.
Survivors include her four children, Jennifer Hendricksen and husband Tripp, Johnathon Ward and wife Brenda, Wendy Stocks and husband Kenneth, and Amanda Smith and husband Dewayne; sister, Patricia Parnell; 13 grandchildren, Christian Ward, Kurt Hendricksen, Destiny Hendricksen, Michael Ortega, Marie Gonzalez, Everly Ward, Eleanor Ward, Olivia Stocks, Abbigail Stocks, Joshua Smith, JD Smith, Virginia Smith, and Cheyenne Smith; and one great granddaughter, Cammy Reese.
Funeral services will be at three o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 4690 East Coast Lane, Shallotte, North Carolina. Burial will follow in Sharon Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Johnathon Ward, Joshua Coffman, Jeremy Ferguson, Christian Ward, Andrew Smith, and Kenneth Stocks.
