William Keith Wallace, 91, died peacefully at home on June 15, 2026. He was born June 29, 1934, near the oil fields of Pawnee Oklahoma to Herbert and Violet Wallace. Bill grew up in Pine Grove, West Virginia, where he built the steady foundation of a life marked by devotion, faithfulness, and thoughtful care for those around him. After attending primary school in the one-room Mobley schoolhouse, he graduated from Pine Grove High School. Bill was the first in his family to attend college, studying at the University of West Virginia from 1952 through 1959. This included serving in the Marine Corps from 1954 – 1958 and ultimately receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Bill dedicated his 36-year working life to Chicago Pneumatic (CP) Tool Company working as an engineer filling development and management roles at the Utica, New York and Rock Hill, South Carolina locations. With a wise and attentive mind for design, he created many tools and earned several patents—work that reflected both his skill and the quiet diligence he brought to every responsibility.
On July 17, 1960, Bill married Mary Hudak. They lived together in Barneveld, New York for 39 years where they raised two sons before moving to Carolina Shores, North Carolina in 1999. In retirement, Bill enjoyed golfing, traveling, and relaxing, but what he treasured most was time with family—especially the moments shared with his grandchildren, where his beloved presence and steady guidance were felt most deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, John, Gerald, Tom, and Jim, and a sister Inez Reichert Enos. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Wallace; son, Bob Wallace and wife Norma and son John Wallace; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mary Sue, Matthew, Christopher, Michael, Joshua and Noah; great Grandchildren, Jace, Jordyn, and Willow; a sister, Pat Bonner; and several nieces and nephews.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, visitation with family will be held at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:00 pm in the Chapel followed by a reception in the Reception Room. Reverends Tony Adams and Amanda Dixson are officiating.
