Gilbert Alferd Shepherd

Gilbert A. age 97 passed away July 20, 2017 at Hospice of Warren County. Gilbert was born April 23, 1920 to the late Franklin Shepherd and Deveria (Holder) Shepherd in Fonthill, Russell County, Kentucky. He graduated from the Russell County School system. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII attaining the rank TEC 5 in the 399th Engineering Company. He served in Central Europe and later in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Gilbert married Marian Fleckinger in 1949. He worked in the lead processing industry for 45 years as Traffic Manager. He is survived by a son Gordon Shepherd, a daughter Susan (Bob) Williford, grandson Alex (Trish) Richey, a niece Sharon Popplewell of Kentucky and a nephew Gary Shepherd of Kentucky. His hobbies includes card playing and the Cincinnati Reds. Visitation Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. at Our Lady of Sorrow Parish, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe, OH 45050.
