Vivian Loretta Schutte

Vivian Loretta Marie Frances (nee Engel) Schutte of Sharonville, Ohio died Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 at Maple Knoll’s Bodmann Pavilion Health Care Center. She was born January 20th, 1927 to Anthony and Henrietta (nee Halker) at their home on Walnut Street in Reading, Ohio. After graduation from Reading High School’s class of 1944, Viv worked briefly at Wright Aeronautical in Lockland. In 1946, Viv met and married Albert, her beloved husband for 67 years. She leaves five children: Kris (Tim) Haap, Alan (Nancy) Schutte, Lynn (Jerry) Barrow, Jayne (Harry) Wilder, Nancy (Mark) Marshall, 13 grandchildren (Jason Haap, Samuel, David and Elizabeth Schutte, Nick Avramovic, Stephanie and Alex Barrow, Lauren, Kelly and Michael Wilder, Bryant, Kyle and Trevor Davis) and 5 great-grandchildren (Jacob and Tyler Haap; Maxwell, Erin and Benjamin Schutte). Vivian spent her first 13 years raising her 5 children and keeping a neat and orderly home. In 1960, she took a seasonal job Pogue’s in the new Tri-County Mall, and retired from that job 27 years later as a Vice President. She enjoyed family get-togethers, reading, playing cards, and socializing with her many friends from Reading, Finneytown, the Halker-Flege American Legion Post and the Cottingham Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents, her sisters Charlotte Bunn and Mary Jane Osterfeld, and her brothers Donald (Mick) and John (Jake). She is survived by her brother Edward and her sister Anna Mae Feldhaus. A memorial gathering will occur at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 177 Siebenthaler Avenue, Reading, OH, Saturday, March 7th from 9-9:45 A.M., with a eulogy to begin prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Reception to follow at Raffel’s Catering in Evendale on Reading Road. Private burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio.
