Our beloved brother, cousin, and nephew was taken from us on June 7, 2013. Charles Ray (Rev) Johnson was born in Waco, Texas on June 24, 1969 to Patricia Ann Ream and Peyton Johnson Jr. Although he was proud of his southern roots, Ray found his home when he moved to Mountain, WI in 1985. Ten years later he would join the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club where he was currently on the Board of Directors.
Ray had a soft spot for animals and a love of music. He lived life to the fullest and was happy and content with what he had in life be it little or large. He was rarely in a foul mood and you could always depend on seeing his smile. Ray had a laugh that was all his own. For anyone that knew him, they can attest his laugh was both annoying yet comforting. It will be one of the things that will live on in our hearts and our stories.
Ray loved his family, his club, his bike and his Jack Daniels. His music was Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outlaw Country and good ‘ol Southern Rock. Ray had his own Karaoke/DJ business, Rev It Up. He played at various taverns across the state. Ray sang the best Free Bird you could ever hear. Lynyrd Skynyrd songs were often requested for him to sing.
Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ream and his aunt, Sandra Ingram. He is survived by his sisters, Libbie Fox (Tom Fox), Becky Johnson and Marie Clinard. His nephews Christopher Wollard (Erin), Craig Wollard (Casey Wollard) and Jeremy Fox (Becca Schisel). His uncle, Jimmie Ingram. His close cousins Toni Pena (Jeff Z-man Zschetzsche) and Melissa Nash and other very loved relatives and friends. He is also survived by his SCMC Brothers.
Ray will forever live on in our hearts. Gone but never forgotten. May your Spirit Ride forever in the wind. Fly Freebird Fly.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory. A time of visitation and support will be held from 5:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday.
