

He was born July 26, 1937 in Superior, WI to Peter and Caroline (Timmer) Wilmot. He attended schools in Cedarburg before enlisting in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany.
On October 11, 1958 Clayton and Betty Jane Drenker were united in marriage at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on December 15, 1994.
For fifteen years Clayton worked at Kohler Co. before beginning his employment as a truck driver for Schultz Sav-O, retiring in 1997.
Clayton enjoyed woodworking, fishing, working on antique cars and attending antique car shows. In his later years he liked spending time at Sheboygan’s boardwalk with his friends.
Clayton is survived by five sons, Todd (Theresa) Wilmot of Bogart, GA, Mark (Suzanne) Wilmot of Sheboygan, Kurt (Cora) Wilmot of Sheboygan, Keith (Veronica) Wilmot of Albquerque, NM, and Kevin Wilmot of Sheboygan; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leray (Cliff) Bauman of Fredonia, Paulette Surk of Green Bay, and Rosemarie (Wayne) Rickhoff of Kewaskum; his brother Louis Wilmot of Wausaukee, WI and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Betty Jane, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Pastor Andy Hopp of Zion Covenant Church will officiate. Entombment with full military honors by V.F.W. Sheboygan Memorial Post #9156 will follow at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. and at Ballhorn Chapels on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
Clayton’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staffs at Pine Haven Christian Home and St. Nicholas Hospital for their care of Clayton these last few months.
