Debra Jean Frank, age 47, “Daughter, sister, wife, and mother,” passed away on May 3rd, 2012 after a courageous four month battle with cancer. She was born December 24th, 1964 as the youngest child of Richard and Laura Frank.
Debra and David Mulder were married in October of 1985, welcoming two sons, Jordan and Aaron Mulder. While working full-time, raising two small children and keeping an immaculate home, Deb managed to attend LTC School of Nursing, graduating with highest honors and maintaining a 4.0 average. She applied her skills at various nursing homes in the Sheboygan area and was named Director of Nursing at Heritage Nursing Home.
Debra moved to New Mexico in May of 2007 and was united in marriage to Tony Edman on December 30th, 2008. This joyous union added Tony’s daughter, Sydney, to her love and life.
Debra is survived by her husband, Tony Edman, her sons, Jordan and Aaron Mulder; her stepdaughter Sydney Edman; her mother, Laura Frank; father- and mother-in-law Richard and Donna Edman; brother Robert Frank; sisters Marjorie Johnson (Jerry Susnik), Susan Frank, and Jayne (Michael) Hoell; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and the love of her life, her dog Benny, Deb’s beloved “Pooper.”
Deb loved to participate in all sports, either competitive or personal. Rob always called her “his little brother.” Debbie’s heart was filled with love and caring for all her patients, family members, animals, wildlife of all kinds, and children. She was always willing to step in and help if needed. She enjoyed cooking and baking, decorating, going for long walks, camping, and oh how she loved to read! (She was never able to put down a book.)
She was lifted up to heaven by the many prayers offered up by people throughout the country. Debra’s loved ones who preceded her include her father, Richard Frank; Grandparents Walter and Gertrude Frank; Alex and Elin Pfutzenreuter. They were all waiting to hug “Pebbles” at the gate. Her family and friends are sure that God wants Deb to throw a ball or play with all the children and animals that went to heaven before her.
According to Debra’s wishes, a time of remembrance will be held Thursday, May 10th at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels and Crematory, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon, with a memorial service to follow at noon. Pastor Todd Smith of First United Lutheran Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Debra’s name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Evans and all of the staff that treated her at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, and the nurses and aides on 2K at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center who were so kind to Deb and her family.
It’s hard to say goodbye, her picture in our mind will always be of times we cherish. May God give you peace sweetie! Love: Tony, Jordan, Aaron, Mom and “Pebbles’” siblings.
