

Evelyn M. Clement, age 98, formerly of 910 N. 10th St., went peacefully on to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday evening, September 26, 2011 after a brief stay at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Evelyn was born February 8, 1913 in Sheboygan to Emil and Martha (Groschke) Nuernberg. She attended local schools and graduated from high school in 1931. Following graduation she worked in the office at Crocker Chair Co. and later at W.J. Grant Store.
On August 18, 1936 Evelyn and John A. Clement were united in marriage. On July 6, 1996, after nearly sixty years of marriage, John preceded her in death .
Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where she belonged to the youth group, taught Sunday School, and participated in the Women’s Guild for over fifty years.
Evelyn is survived by her two children, Judy (Jim) Burke of Davenport, FL and Robert (Debby) Clement of Sheboygan. In addition she is survived by five grandchildren, Colleen (Tim) Sass of Sheboygan Falls, Michael (Lupita) Burke of El Paso, TX, James (Jennifer) Burke of Kaukauna, WI, Mary (Mike) Fazendin of Thorp, WI, and Katy Clement of Baton Rouge, LA, as well as six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren, Lori, Marc, Amanda, Danny, Ashley, Kelly, Mike, and Alex. She leaves behind a special grand-niece, Mary Ellen Myers, as well as numerous nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Emma TenPas, Paula Paasch, Florence Nack, Rose Smith, and an infant brother, Ervin Nuernberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Reverend Gregory S. Whelton, Pastor of St. John’s United Church of Christ, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Evelyn’s name for the Salvation Army.
Evelyn’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Sunny Ridge and St. Nicholas Hospice for the loving care given to her these past few weeks.
