

John was born August 8, 1944 in Sheboygan to John and Amalia (Schmidt) Dietz.
He attended eight years of vocational school and later worked at St. Nicholas Hospital as a laundry attendant for 36 years; he never missed a day of work.
John was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and attended Bible classes there. He loved to bowl, watch movies and T.V., especially sports, in particular the Packers and Brewers. John was a proud Eagle Scout and enjoyed Moon Beach Camp in northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed being with his niece, Carol, and her children. As a child, John had a pet Chihuahua named Cindy and he carried on his love of animals into adulthood. John was deeply involved in activities at Meadow View Manor and loved to share his opinions.
John is survived by his sister, Lois (Howard) Steffen of Sheboygan Falls; niece, Carol (Jeff) Fremder; 2 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews; and other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends at Meadow View Manor.
The family of John would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Meadow View Manor, in particular, Sarah, the Nurse Practitioner and Gail, RN.
John will always be remembered for his love of people, he would talk to anyone who would listen.
