Born July 26, 1924 in Chicago, daughter of William and Amelia (‘Molly’) Zeller, Lorraine graduated from Chicago’s Forman High School and married her high school sweetheart, David McLean during World War II when he was in Army Air Corps training in Texas in 1944. They spent most of their adult life in the suburban Chicago area, and for part of that time Lorraine was office manager for Varian Medical Systems. Lorraine was devoted to her family, and greatly enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family, and was active in various card clubs, bowling leagues, and the PTA. In later years Lorraine and David moved to Colorado to be closer to family, and they enjoyed traveling and cruises during retirement.
Lorraine is survived by her son, David (Susan) McLean of Aurora, Colorado, and by her daughter, Holly (Tim) Kemmis of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Colin (Erin) Kemmis of Plymouth, MN, Kathryn Kemmis of Chicago, and Meghan (Justin) McLean Merrick of Dayton, Ohio, and one great-granddaughter, Violet Kemmis of Plymouth, MN.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the staff at Countryside Manor and Hospice Advance (Sheboygan) and previously to Meadowmere Northshore (Mequon). Besides exceptional care, they provided cherished love and friendship to Lorraine in her last years.
