poem i wrote for him..recited  by mother at the service.

Weary eyes looking straight only on the two lights leading him home.
His home was unmistakable.
His favorite, a shaky frame clung by patches of fabric.. called a chair
With the only friend he ever wanted to be by his side
This friend was more than a best one a man could ask for
she smiled at him when his eyes became less clear
she was his passenger when his compass
was only the wheel that was put in front of him
if you met this man,
all you saw was the highway man and his dog
if you loved this man
you saw nothing  incomplex but,
a man…
strong enough to say the words  “I love you”
humble enough to share his stories only to offer 
some guidance in the tough life he led,
stories that will make you laugh until you cried
but also impossible to forget.
Relentless to anyone that could tell him
How he spent his sunrise to sunset.
So, his last day 
He sat In his shaky frame
Only to find a new home with more peace 
And a long lost friend waiting with a smile and wag in her tail
