

Sharon “Sherry” A. Kaufman, age 72, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013. She was born April 8, 1941 in Sheboygan to John and Florence (Kemmer) Hilpertshauser where she attended local schools and later St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Milwaukee. While in high school she was a member of the Glee Club and took business courses. For forty years Sherry was married to Thomas Kaufman, also of Sheboygan who served twenty two years in the US Air Force which allowed them to enjoy many experiences while traveling the world. Wherever they lived Sherry was actively involved in and a member of the military wives’ club. She made and maintained many wonderful friendships over the years. For a time Sherry was an Avon Representative. She was extremely talented and creative, crocheting many afghans and baby blankets for her family and friends. Her other hobbies included playing the piano and organ, singing, and playing cards with her friends. She always put her family first and was an awesome homemaker who enjoyed cooking and family reunions. She is survived by her children, Mark A. Kaufman of Sheboygan, Terri L. (Matt) Daubon of Lac du Flambeau, WI and Matt (Patrawadee) Kaufman of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Balde, Matt Daubon , Josh Kaufman, Kyle (girlfriend, Terin) Kaufman, and Justin Kaufman; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ethan, Kamsley, Tayson, and Josephine; two special cousins, Mary Kay and John Kobelsky and his wife, Karen; her very close friend since the age of fourteen, Sue (Joseph) Palus; her dear friend, Hannah Anhalt; and countless friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church by Rev. Phil Reifenberg. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Sherry will lovingly be remembered as the one person in the family to whom you could go to, talk, and never be judged. She was supportive of everyone and will be deeply missed.
