Virginia Strohmeyer

Ginny was born December 27, 1926 in Sheboygan to Frederic and Hildegarde (Fobian) Schwarz. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1945.

Ginny met the love of her life, John “Stony” Strohmeyer, in 1950. On March 17th, 1951 they were united in marriage. After 56 years of marriage, Stony preceded Ginny in death on October 7, 2007.

Ginny was a devoted wife, Mom and homemaker her entire life. She enjoyed watching movies, working crossword puzzles and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi, her sister, Joyce Schwarz, her brother, Cliff (Betty) Schwarz, niece, Robin (Paul) Callan, nephews, Gregg (Julie) Schwarz, Mark (Joan) Rakow, Todd (Nancy ) Rakow; great-nieces and great- nephews, Rebecca and Kimberly Callan, Taylor, Brandon, Heather, and Kristin Schwarz, Mike and Jill Rakow, Ben Rakow and Natalie Rakow Zempel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Emily Schwarz Rakow.

Ginny’s family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Cynthia Northup and her nurse, Marge for their many years of care and compassion, nurses Jodie and Melissa and their assistants at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center third floor ICU.

In accordance with Ginny’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation.

Ginny will be deeply and dearly missed by her daughter, Heidi and the entire extended family.
