

Bill was born June 19, 1928 in Sheboygan to Edwin and Anna (Dirkse) Oostdyk.
He attended Sheboygan Christian School and graduated from North High School, Class of 1946.
On November 20, 1948, Bill and Janice Steffen were united in marriage at St Mark Lutheran Church.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Army Reserves for 33 years, retiring as a Sergeant Major E9.
Bill worked for the Kohler Company for 44 years, retiring June 19, 1990 as an Industrial Engineer.
He was a member of the VFW 9156, Sheboygan Elks Club, Sheboygan Athletic Club, Old Timer's Baseball Club, Accents Parent Group, St Mark's Men's Club, the Kohler Quarter Century Club and St Mark's church.
Bill enjoyed gardening and at one time tended over 50 rose bushes in his backyard. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was a huge fan and booster of Sheboygan A's baseball. Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Janice; Bill is survived by his children, Lynn (Mark) Jelenc, and Leigh (Neil) Sprangers, both of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Kelly (Kurt) Blum of Port Washington, Christopher (Briana) Jelenc of Portland, OR, and Kyle Sprangers of Sheboygan; great grandchildren Mia and Tyson Blum, and Carson Jelenc; as well as other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11:00 at Ballhorn Chapels, the Rev. Dr. Roger Mealiff, Senior Pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held Friday at Ballhorn Chapels from 09:30 until the time of service.
