

Yvonne C. Westerhausen, age 73, of 3302 S. 11th Place, died peacefully Thursday evening, June 16, 2011 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center from complications due to a stroke. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Yvonne was born August 23, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernard and Ermine (Voight) Mayer. At the age of two she relocated to Marshfield, WI and she graduated from Marshfield Senior High School, Class 1956. She later furthered her education at Lakeshore Technical College, receiving an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising.
On June 9, 1956 Yvonne and James Westerhausen were united in marriage at Bakerville, WI. In 1967 the Westerhausen family moved to the Kiel area until 1987 when they moved to Sheboygan. Yvonne became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Sheboygan. She later worked for various other realty companies and retired from Diamond Realty in 2007.
Yvonne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Sheboygan County Board of Realtors and a past member of the Sheboygan Optimist Club.
Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, flower gardening, and decorating for the holidays. She was very proud of her Native American heritage and an avid collector of Native American décor.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by five children, James (Valerie) Westerhausen of Manitowoc, David Westerhausen of Houston, TX, Roxanne (Paul) Steeber of Kiel, WI, Brent (Natasha) Westerhausen of Henderson, NV, and Carmen fiancé, James Hasenstein, Jr.) Westerhausen of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Nicholas Westerhausen, Amy Westerhausen, Jessica Westerhausen, Craig Westerhausen, Ryan Steeber, Jesse Steeber, Derek Steeber, Grace Hasenstein, Kaylee Hasenstein, and Kira Westerhausen; one step-grandson, Jakob Wickert; a great-daughter due this August; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Janice Forsythe and an infant daughter, Laurie Louise.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Ballhorn Chapels. A time of visitation and support will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Yvonne will be remembered for her great sense of humor
and her proverbial “mom-isms.” She will be dearly missed.
