Elaine Vera Dovel Lam

She was born on May 21, 1932 in Stanley and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Lowry Dovel.

Elaine lived in Elkton for most of her life before moving to Shenandoah. She was a faithful member of Church of the Valley and she enjoyed reading her Bible and playing cards with the ladies at MontVue. In former years she enjoyed growing flowers and was very fond of day trips and family reunions. She retired in 1992 from Wrangler after 45 years of service.

Elaine is survived by her four children, Sharr L. Breeden of Port Republic, Linda L. Duncan of Luray, Ronald E. Lam of Elkton and Timothy M. Lam of Luray; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette D. Lucas of Shenandoah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashby W. Lam.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 14, 2014 at Church of the Valley with Pastor Alfred Comer officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. There will be no public viewing.
