Obituary of Essie  "Susie" P. Good
Essie “Susie” Priscilla Good, 70, a resident of Shenandoah, passed away at her home on Friday, June 13, 2014 after a 7 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on June 6, 1944 in Page County and was the daughter of Harold Edward and Mary Jane Grimsley Good. Susie lived her entire life in the Shenandoah community and graduated from Page County High School in 1966. She had been employed with Shenandoah Alliance (Genie) and was a substitute teacher with Page County Schools. Susie’s favorite pastime was spending time with her nieces and nephews, she enjoyed reading her Bible, puzzles and going to her church, Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member. She was also a member of Avis O. Comer, VFW Post #8613 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her brothers, John E. Good and wife, Phyllis, Sam Good and wife, Shelley all of Shenandoah; her nieces and nephews, Debbie Williams and husband, Glenn, of Shenandoah, Marty Brown and husband, Gary, of McGaheysville, Sam Good, II and wife, Tammy, Jacob Good and wife, Erin, all of Shenandoah; great-nieces and nephews, Patrick Austin-Good and wife, Teresa of Staunton, Bethany Williams of Shenandoah, Sam Good, III, Alexis Good, Madison Good and Jacob Good, II, all of Shenandoah; great-great-niece Evelyn Austin-Good of Staunton; and her best friend from childhood, Annabelle Comer. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, (today) at Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah and also at the Good homeplace on Saturday from 12-4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Mike Reynolds and Larry Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Shenandoah Fire Dept. or Shenandoah Rescue Squad.
