Gary "Pumpkin" Lee Dean

Gary Lee “Pumpkin” Dean, 63, of Shenandoah, passed away on October 31, 2017. He was born on February 26, 1954 in Harrisonburg and was the son of Lois Comer Herring and her husband, George, of Elkton and the late Delmer Dean. Pumpkin was a lifelong resident of Page and Rockingham county and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by a son, Jason Dean of Elkton; a daughter Courtney Dean and companion, Gary Knight, of Shenandoah; two grandchildren, Abbigail Sellers and Hanna Towe; two sisters, Debra Meadows and husband, Jerry, Vicky Hensley and husband, Brent, all of Elkton; a brother, Ricky Dean and wife, Kelly of McGaheysville; and a companion, Ann Dean of Shenandoah. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at McAlister Cemetery with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.
