He was born on December 18, 1939, in Shenandoah and was the son of the late Emmett L. Knowles and Reva M. Foltz Knowles Knight.
Kenny worked hard all his life in construction and other occupations. He enjoyed fishing, croquet, and playing a good card game of Rook at Kite’s Store. He was a member of the Riverview Independent Church in Stanley.
On June 14, 1963, he married Mary Lou Knotts Knowles, who preceded him in death on November 20, 2017.
He is survived by daughters, Betty Knowles and Karen Hahn; sons, Donnie and Ronnie Knowles; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Matheney; many nieces, nephews, church and community friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenny O. Knowles, Jr., a granddaughter, Sarah E. Knowles; two brothers, Maurice Lee and Cecil Knowles; a sister, Phyllis Brumback; and stepfather, Jack Knight.
Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held 1 pm, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Redeeming Love Fellowship with Pastor Jeff Lucas and Pastor Leroy Hulvey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 – 1 pm prior to the service.
