Louis "Dooger" Norman Mc Alister Jr.

Louis “Dooger” Norman McAlister Jr., 82, of Shenandoah, passed away on Aug. 1, 2018. He was born on June 3, 1936, in Shenandoah, and was the son of the late Louis N. and Audrey L. Pence McAlister. Dooger was employed at Highway Motors in Harrisonburg for several years and enjoyed NASCAR and was a Bill Elliot fan. He is survived by a sister, Betty L. Morris and husband, Harold, of Grottoes, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph McAlister, and a sister-in-law, Jeanie McAlister. Friends may call at the home of his sister, Betty, in Grottoes at any time. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Shenandoah, with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Military honors will be by Avis O. Comer Post No. 8613.
