She was born on December 20, 1945 in West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Asa and Pearl Bolyard Knotts.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Shenandoah Assembly of God, and attended Redeeming Love Fellowship.
On June 14, 1963 she married Kenneth O. Knowles, Sr. who survives.
She is also survived by her daughters, Betty Knowles of Shenandoah and Karen Knowles of Harrisonburg; her sons, Kenny Knowles, Jr. of Elkton, Donnie and Ronnie Knowles both of Shenandoah; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Butch Knotts; two sisters, Anna Turner and Sue Hitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Johnson and Norma Whitlock.
Honoring her wishes, Mary will be cremated. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm, on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Redeeming Love Fellowship.
A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leroy Hulvey and Pastor Carter Dean officiating.
