Billy Joe Murphy Sr.

   Billy Joe Murphy, age 66 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Netra Gail Murphy; parents, Leroy and Geneva Murphy; 2 grandchildren and brother, Leroy Murphy. He loved car shows, hunting and fishing.

   He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Billie Jo Murphy, Tamay Clark (Casey), Sherry Back, Sheila Brock (Kyle), Billy Joe Murphy Jr. and Mary Kay Russell; step daughters, Darla Harper and Christy Barcus; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Worner, Betty Nelson, Larry Murphy, Donald Murphy, William Murphy and Eddie Shuffitt; significant other and friend, Cathy Woolett; fur baby, Snow Ball and a host of family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial in Cain Family Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 9 am until time of service at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
