Charles "Nick" Burden

  Charles “Nick” Burden, age 55 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Nick the youngest of 10 was born in Louisville on March 4, 1969, to the late Russell and Lovenia Coy Burden.

  In addition to his parents, he was greeted in Heaven by his grandchildren, Lillie and Braxton, brother, Royce Burden, first wife, Suzy, and mother-in-law, Karen Nichols.

  Nick was a gentle giant, loving husband, dad, papaw brother and friend. He was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed a cold Miller Lite, playing pool and bowling. Nick was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed by all those that knew him. 

  He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Burden his spunky midget; daughters, Brittany Brock (Tony), Ciera Davis; sons, James and Bub; children, Jessica, Michael, Jason, and Tommy; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Mark, Roger, Lee, Phillip, Bruce, James, Gale and Jeff; best friends, Beaner and Jenni; father-in-law Charles Nichols; his penguin, Christi; Joes wife and Nick’s girlfriend, Adrienne; Joe aka Little Nick; Megan, aka, wifey; Clint, aka Hubby; Cindy and Gary Jackson along with a host of family and friends. 

  Funeral service will be at 1 pm Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home at 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 3 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.
