

Crystal Gayle Farris, age 43, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 23, 2024, where she was greeted in Heaven by her loving mom, Corene Basham. She was born on Friday, January 9, 1981, in Louisville to Charles Basham Jr. and Corene Basham.
She was a Christian by faith. Crystal loved collecting driftwood and rocks that she would use to decorate her home and yard with. She also enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and camping. She loved her family immensely and worked hard to provide. She was the owner and operator of “The Doghouse” where she enjoyed loving and pampering pets. She was a previous employee at The Kidz Club, whereas a registered nurse she was able to provide love and care for little ones. Her greatest joy in life though was her children, and family. She was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Tool”.
She is survived by her children, Hailey Farris, Kadin Farris, and Nolan Lehmenkuler; father, Charles Basham Jr.; siblings, Melissa Cotton (Bruce), Pamela Basham, Samantha Carnahan, Charles Basham III, and Lena Buckman (Bill); nieces and nephews, Jacky, Jessica, Michael, Kaitlyn, Aiden, Adelynn, Charleigh, and Jasper along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends who will deeply miss Crystal.
Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 South Buckman Street in Shepherdsville, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Hardy-Close Funeral Home. The family has asked in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to the funeral home to help with the cost of the services.
