David Dawson

   David Dawson, age 79 of Mt. Washington, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. David was born to the late Woodford “Woody” and Lucille Dawson in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, March 16, 1943. He and his brothers were raised on the Dawson Brothers Farm in Belmont, Kentucky. In 1968 David graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Louisville, until retiring. After retirement he continued to enjoy what he loved most which was travel, hunt, fish and play softball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his two special grand-dogs Sammy and Busch.

   He is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Michael) Rogers; three grandchildren, Anthony, Daniel, and Martina Rogers; his twin brother, Dennis Dawson; brothers, Lonnie (Sharon) Dawson, and Leon (Susan) Dawson; sister-in-law, Betty Dawson along with several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 7 pm in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buchman Street, Shepherdsville, with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, from 5pm until time of service at 7 pm at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
