Deacon Joe L. Mendoza

     Deacon Joe L. Mendoza, age 81 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was an Ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Nieves Mendoza; brothers, Faustino Mendoza and John Mendoza and sisters, Mary Mendoza and Lupe Seip.

     He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Grace Jasso Mendoza; sons, Mark A. Mendoza and Jaime A Mendoza; daughter Georgiana T. Mendoza Bulanda (Theodore); grandchildren, Jaime A. Mendoza (Amanda), Guadalupe J. Mendoza, Joseph M. Mendoza, Jessica T. Bulanda and Elizabeth G. Mendoza; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Carmen Mendoza of Brownsville, Texas; brother, Amado Mendoza (Kim) of Weslaco, Texas; sister, Martina Morales (Robert) of Browsnville, Texas; brother, Antonio Mendoza of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Teresa Mendoza of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Martin Mendoza of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and a host of other family and friends.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 4 pm in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 12 pm until time of service at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
